In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, people living in Haiti’s Southern Claw are still recovering from loss of crops, livestock, and basic infrastructure. Your generous contributions last year supported the building of schools and replenishing clothing, backpacks and school supplies. There is so much more to be done. You can read more about our efforts in Haiti here on our Blog.
As the academic year approaches, the losses suffered during Hurricane Matthew continue to impact Haitian families. All of the funds raised by EIC will be used to defray school fees, provide one nutritious meal a day, and introduce high yield school gardens. Based on mysquarefootgarden.com (http://mysquarefootgarden.com), school gardens will introduce new crops and agricultural practices as well as an opportunity to teach shared responsibility and community participation as essential for participatory governance.
